5) Football has a goal keeper, stricker and mid fellow.
Dota has a tanker(goal keeper), carry (stricker) and support (mid fellow).

6) Football is loved by many people.
Dota is crazed by many people.

Leavers are not bad

Leavers has been a nonsense in dota but there are some good points about leavers, which are:-
1) you get a portion of their gold
2) their item can be used
3) can use to create rune in fountain

What!!.. create rune in fountain? Usually there is 2 spot where there is rune which is in the middle of the map


Here is the trick to create rune in your fountain. There is 2 requirement:-
1) A leaver
2) A bottle

Steps:

1. Put an empty bottle in the inventory of the leaver
   
2. Pick a rune using leaver player hero and don't use it!
   
3. Now immediately go back to base and use his circle of power to freeze his hero.
4. After 2 minutes or less the rune will be dropped at circle of power.
5. The rune will not disappear until you pick it.

What is the skill that is the most powerful? What is the skill that kill the most in dota history?

the answer is zues ulti (thundergod wrath) which damages the enemy by 460. It damages all the enemy heroes which is 460*5 = 2300 damage in total. With Aghanim's Scepter it will cost 570 damage to a unit. So it is 2850 damage to 5 enemy heroes. Madness power

However, everything that is strong has its weakness. Zues ulti can kill zues himself. How could this be possible. zues getting killed by his own thundergod wrath skill? impossible. Enjoy the clip

Heroes of Newerth

There is a new game call Heroes of Newerth. It is a DOTA duplicate. The map, heroes, spells, items are very similiar to dota. The only big difference is the graphics. It is 100x better graphics than dota. However, it required minimum 2 GB RAM and a very good graphics card.

I was invited to try out the game. Currently, the game is in beta testing.

Currently, you need the key from S2 to create an account.

The beta servers are in USA only. Even so, i could have a good ping of 250. Each game is created in the server. Even if you got disconnected or fatal error, you still can reconnect to the game.

Killing Roshan Early Game

If you have been playing dota, there is a unit call Roshan. It is the most powerful neutral creep with 9000 life and increases every 10 mins. Killing Roshan alone is very hard. Killing it early game is even harder.

I have played a game which they kill Roshan early game before the creep appear. They gain experince and gold too. After that, they just kill us easily. But how did they kill Roshan early game?

Even with 5 heroes it is no easy job to kill Roshan because any hero at level 1 has low armor, low hitpoints, low attack damage. However, there is 5 key points to kill it:-

1) Need a hero who can summon. The summon creature will act as tanker (Ex:- banehallow-summon wolf , syllabear-summon bear)

2) Slow Roshan attack (Ex:- Lich-his frost armor can slow enemy attack speed by -20%)

3) Healer (Ex:- omniknight, dazzle, necrolyte)

4) Reduce Roshan armor (shadow fiend, lanaya)

5) Increase team damage (vengeful spirit, luna, drow ranger)

Having all the 5 type of hero will easily kill Roshan early game. But do not let the enemy find out

Dota is boring. Damn boring when these happen:-

Dota Collided map

This is the worst cheaters. It is a dota map which has been edited and allow to key in cheat code. They can make the tower armor to 99999 for how long they want. They even can use their power and kill other hero one time. They can even get 10000 gold in the start of the game. It only works on warcraft 1.22 and lower. I hate these cheaters because it destroy the fun of dota.

MapHacker

Maphackers know where you are. They can see the entire map. Even inside your base. They can see invisible hero and know which is the fake hero. This turn you down when they can kill you even though you are invisible or run away when you are going to gank him.

Leaver

Another type of person that make dota so sucks. Playing the game for 20 mins and suddenly they start leaving. It is like wasting 20mins of your life on your computer.

No teamwork

This make dota not dota. When the enemy is attacking your base, your friends are farming in the jungle. They will also leave you alone to die and laugh at you as a noob. This make dota so sucks.

what happen if there is 12 people wanting to play dota. The extra 2 people would need to wait their turn to play. Wait no more.

Some changes were made but after playing a few rounds of games, this is my hypothesis:-
a) batrider - nerf - less hp but still deadly with his combo
* Batrider: Lowered Strength gain from 2.5 to 2.0

b) bone fletcher - buff- attack very painful with his fire arrow in the beginning of game
* Bone Fletcher: Improved Searing Arrows damage from 10/20/30/40 to 20/30/40/50

c) furion - buff - If furion has hex, he can sprout then hex then sprout then hex .. non stop
* Furion: Lowered Sprout cooldown from 11 seconds to 11/10/9/8 seconds and manacost from 115/140/165/205 to 100/120/140/160

d) nerubian weaver - lost some, gain some - It still can map hack but in a very much smaller, restricted area. But the urna swarm could really damage the enemy early game. They will retreat when they see urna swarm coming.
* Nerubian Weaver: Reworked Watchers to Urna Swarm

e) orge magi - still the same - even after reducing his ulti. It is still very deadly hero when he bombard you
* Ogre Magi: Reduced Multicast from 30%2x/45%2x+22.5%3x/60%2x+30%3x+15%4x ->25%2x/40%2x+20%3x/50%2x+25%3x+12.5%4x

f) silencer - buff - do not get kill near by the silencer. you will lose 1 int. thats alot for strength hero
* Silencer: Transferred Glaive of Wisdom's secondary effect of +1/-1 Intelligence from hero kills to Last Word. If an enemy hero dies under the Last Word effect, that hero will lose 1 intelligence and you will gain 1 intelligence.
* Silencer: Increased Last Word AoE from 700 to 900

g) Tauren Chieftain - nerf - now his damage and hp is less but becareful with his combo. Is much easier to kill him now than before.
* Tauren Chieftain: Lowered base damage by 10
* Tauren Chieftain: Lowered Strength gain from 2.7 to 2.3
* Tauren Chieftain: Decreased Natural Order percentages to 20/40/60/80%

h) Viper - nerf - now he cannot deny his creep easily. Allow the opponent to farm.
* Viper: Nethertoxin now only works on enemy units

i) bottle - buff - automatically refill in fountain. Do not need to click on the bottle to refill it every time.

j) quelling blade - still the same - even after the reduction, it still does a minor damage. The skill to last hit and deny is more important
* Quelling Blade: Minor reduction to bonus damage (36->32)

k) buriza - buff - not a good item early game but become deadly when it is end game
* Buriza-Do Kyanon: Improved the critical value from 2.2x to 2.4x

As we know ghost scepter when activated will make you immune to attack damage for 4 seconds but take extra 44% damage from magic spell. However, ghost scepter can block certain magic spell. Here are the list:-

Dota Tricks

Here are some tricks:-

1) Treant Protector - If there is no trees around you , how do you become invisible?

Answer : cast Eyes in the Forest + Nature's Guise. Eyes in the forest will create a tree for you to hide.

2) How to move when channeling spell?

Answer : Teammate help to use force staff on channeling hero. Example of channeling hero are crystal maiden, sand king, pudge

Dota Double Team Combo

Here are some double team lane combos which I have try:-

zeus + harbinger

When the harbinger aura gets to lvl 3 it procs on zeus sickingly. Zeus can spam his skill non stop but still have a full mana pool. This combo is very easy to play, and is good against opponent which has 3 or more lategamers. It is not easy to go near them at all.

Techies + darkseer

Both this hero are not strong heroes. But when they team up they could create miracle. There is 2 main strategy which are:-

1) Pull them to the mines - techies put mines at the corner of the map. Usually enemy will not go near the mines. Hence is darkseer will suck them to the mines.

2) chase for suiciding - this is easy, darkseer give haste to techies for suicide. This is fun to play.

Huskar + Drow ( Fire + Ice)

This is both strong heroes. But they are stronger if they are team up. I call it fire + ice strategy. Awesome combination of ranged orb walkers. The tactic is using orb walking. Orb walking will attack the enemy but the enemy creeps will not attack you.

Warlock + Axe (creep intercepting)

This is classic. This phenomenom has occured alot times and it seems pretty hard to counter, the thing is axe and warlock intercept your creeps between the towers and their own creeps will attack tower straight away. So you pull the creeps away from the tower but you will eventually run into axe. It is deep shit from both side.

There is a counter to it which is mirana since her arrow can stun for max duration and ranged heroes with nukes.

Pudge + Omniknight

This is another classic. Total ownage with repel and heal on pudge. Both has a slow aura which make killing easy.

Dota winning strategy

Many ask me to blog about dota hero guide, but i feel dota isn't a solo strategy. Every hero must buy different item depending on gameplay.

I am more focus on team strategy because this is what we are lacking among public players. So, what are the heroes which when team up can produce excellent result

1) Nerubian Weaver + Dark Seer

This strategy is 3E killing. 3E = easy , early , excellent

Nerubian weaver first skill is watcher.
Dark seer skill is ion shell.

Strategy to kill:
1) After there is a creep kill, nerubian weaver cast watcher skill to produce a watcher
2) Nerubian weaver must share unit with dark seer
3) Dark seer cast ion shell on watcher
4) Dark seer control watcher and follow the enemy hero. Watcher is invisible and move at top speed. Your enemy will not know what is killing them.
5) When enemy life is 300 below. Dark seer and nerubian weaver can pawn him easily.


From the picture, the red circle is the watcher with ion shell. Rylai is running back because her life is getting less even though no one attack her.


It reduces rylai life fast until she die

Notes:-
1) ion shell stacks means if enemy get close to 2 ion shell, it will get both damage.
2) ion shell level 1 causes 337 damage after magic reduction for 15 seconds. This is enough to kill any enemy early game. Having 2 ion shell will cause 660 damage. You can say bye bye to them.
3) when your enemy realise you are using this trick, they will buy ward. Hence it is recommended dark seer to buy ward early game.

2) Huskar + Necrolyte

This strategy is call SK. Not steal kill. It is Super Killer

Both their ulti can kill any one even a tanker with 10000 life.

Killing strategy:-
Huskar ulti can remove 50% of enemy life
After that, Necrolyte ulti can remove about 40% enemy life. With Aghanim's Scepter it can remove about 52% life
Necrolyte third skill which is Heartstopper Aura remove 1% of enemy life every second


Curing strategy:-
Beside that, both also can cure each other.
Huskar Inner Vitality can cure about 20(60*)% of main attrib + 8 hp regen per sec which is about 20-30 hp for 16 seconds = 400hp in total
Necrolyte Death Pulse can cure 130hp around him every 5 seconds

This is super killer and super cure strategy

You have internet, laptop and warcraft program at home. But there is no one else to play dota with.The best would be playing the dota AI map game which will get boring after playing for a while. At the 10 mins, Eto playing nerubian assasin came from behind and stun both Van der sar and Ferdinand. He backstab both of them and score a first blood . They push at the bottom tower and break it.

The game is very one sided as Barcelona is pushing at MU side. MU cannot fight back.

However, at the 25 mins , Ronaldo and team make the push to the middle tower. Ronaldo (tiny) misses stunning Puyol. So, they keep attacking the middle tower. However, Victor Valdes(levithan) super stun all the hero. He denied Park Ji Sung from destroying the middle tower. What a waste.

Barcelona Messi was farming very well. He is very fat. MU was unable to counter him.

MU team go for the gangbang at the top tower. Ronaldo toss Park Ji Sung for the kill. Park misses for the final blow. It was close.

Ronaldo go for long shoot by using his stun. But it is misses and wide.

Tevex which has been in the bench farming is back to the match. At level 16, travex damage is high. He went for the kill. However, Tevex damage is nullified by Puyol. Puyol (bane elemental) reduce Tevex damage.

Messi is fat. He went for a double kill at the 70 mins. With his ice dragon, Messi is godlike. Ferdinand(furion) was unable to catch Messi with his sprout trees. As a result, MU main top tower has been destroy. Bigger creep is spawning at the top.

MU has no choice and have the final push. They push at the middle lane. However, MU team was totally killed.

Barcelona make the push and a win for them.

So, the best dota hero depends on your style of playing. It depend on your character. Here is the list:-

1) Satisfied when killing the hero alone - use hero like yunero, broodmother, troll, dragon knight. These hero can 1 on 1 with any one

2) Satisfied when your friend get the kill while you support them - use demon witch, stunners, shadow priest, dark seer.

3) Satisfied when your team together kill the hero - use hero which has aoe damage like zues , sand king, warlock.

4) Satisfied chasing the hero until his death - use bone fletcher , lycan , barathrum . These hero can reach maximum speed and chase them down.

5) Satisfied to be in the safe zone and like to defend - use long range hero like sniper

6) Satisfied to suprise or backstab the enemy from behind- rikimaru , nerubian assasin , gondar

7) Satisfied to kill many creeps - use shadow fiend, sniper , axe

I am number 4. I love chasing the hero till their death. I like to ks also. hehehe.

So , who are you?

Armor & Damage Reduction

Alot people forget about upgrading their armor in dota. They usually buy damage item because they want to kill the opponent as fast as possible. Armor give you more survivability compare to damage item in battle.

Each increase in armor increases your effective HP by 6%. This means that having 1000 HP with 10 armor is equal to 1000 + (1000 * 0.06 *10) = 1600 effective HP. If you have 17 armor, your effective HP is double.

Armor will reduce the physical damage from your opponent. The formula to know the reduction of physical damage is 1 - ( 1/ (1 + (armor * 0.06)))


What is the best amount of armor should i get? Usually the more armor you have, the better. But as you can see from the chart, the most effective armor is 17. However, it is better to have 23-27 armor for end game because your opponent will obtain desolator or assault cuirass which will reduce your armor.

early game - 7 to 9 armor
mid game - 17 armor
end game - 23 to 27 armor

Vanguard, armor , kraken shell relationship
----------------------------------------------------

How do you calculate damage if you have kraken shell, a stout shield , a vanguard and armor?

This is the sequence for calculating reduce damage
1) stout shield or vanguard
- which last item you pick up or create will block the damage first. So if you have stout shield and vanguard in your item list, put down vanguard and pick it up again. Make it your primary reduce damage item.

2) kraken shell
- if stout shield or vanguard could not protect you, then kraken shell will block the damage. However, if stout shield or vanguard block the damage, then kraken shell will not reduce the damage.

3) armor
- After blocking the damage from both above, the armor reduction is calculated.

One thing to notice is that vanguard could only block about 18 to 30 damage. If creep attack you below 40 damage, you will not received any damage. Early game to mid game, vanguard is very useful because you can dive in to the tower or creep and kill hero. It is useless end game when your enemy have 200+ damage.

What item can help increase your armor
------------------------------------------------

1) Plate Mail = +10 armor
2) Chain Mail = +5 armor
3) Helm of Iron Will = +5 armor
4) Ring of Protection = +2 armor
5) get item that increase agility (7 agility = 1 armor)

Dota Hardware Tools

Tools to help you play better in dota:-

1) Razer Mouse - it run faster than mickey mouse. Its name says it all, a mouse build to race. Sensitive to every movement. Hard to be caught.

2) Powerful Notebook - a book that can colour and draw for you in a millisecond. Better than death note.

3) Use Earphone - a phone that can communicate to your ear directly. Tells you everything that happens. Do not use speakers. You will miss the slightest movement sound.

Alot people misunderstand this,
Each butterfly gives you 30% chance to evade attack. So getting 4 butterfly will give you 120% evasion. Means you will not get hurt at all. Every hit on you will be evaded. This is godlike!!

Well, that is NOT true. If you have 4 butterfly, it will check each butterfly chances. First it check for the first butterfly whether it was evaded. If it was not evaded, it will check for the second butterfly, third , blah blah blah

So, what is the chances of evasion if you have 4 butterfly? The formula is this

% Evasion = (1 - ((1-0.3) * (1-0.3) * (1-0.3) * (1-0.3))) *100 %
= 75.99%
means for every 4 hits, there will be 3 hits which is evaded. It is still like godlike.

2 Vanguard

What if you have 2 vanguard on axe? 1 vanguard gives you 65% to evade 40 damage. Then having 2 vanguard will give you 130% to evade 40 damage. Means creep cannot hurt you at all.

Well, it is NOT true again.

% = ( 1-((1-0.65)*(1-0.65)) ) * 100 %
= 87.75 % to evade 40 damage

means that for 10 creeps that hit you, only 1 or 2 creep will effectively damage you.

1 butterfly + 1 radiance

butterfly gives you 30% evasion while radiance gives you 8% evasion. So what is the actual evasion? It seems to be 38% evasion

% = ( 1-((1-0.30)*(1-0.08)) ) * 100 %
= 35.6%

5 buriza de kyano

buriza give you 20% to critical 2.2x. So logically, 5 buriza will give you 100% to critical 2.2x. Very painful.

Well, having 5 buriza only give you

% = ( 1-((1-0.20)*(1-0.20)*(1-0.20)*(1-0.20)*(1-0.20) ) ) * 100 %
= 67.23 % to critical 2.2x

That is like for every 3 hits , there will be 2 hits which has critical.

Summary

All chances on dota is using this formula
% = (1 - ( (1-(percent)) * (1-(percent)) * (1-(percent))) * 100 )

So, If you meet a hero with 4 butterfly, you still can kill him.

Zambry is back ..This time he activated the blacksheepwall mode(cheat mode) and destroy the PKR mid tower easily. He proudly say he is damn pro and as powerful as Roshan except that he do not suffer any physical harm. Everyone wtf him.

3 heroes from PKR switch to BN.. Now, BN are pushing at the mid tower. PKR is defending their tower as much as possible. Sivakumar was hook out. Zambry fresh meat him.

Suddenly, Nizar uses his ulti and score a TRIPLE KILL. It is a killing spree for PKR. BN heroes are out... PKR pushes and BN mid tower is down.

With a lagger and noob hero like Hee . BN is losing ground.

BN call for support and will be playing -who's your daddy... PKR want to remake game because too many leaver and noobie..
